Now, this is my contest entry for
It's basically a piece of her Scarlet River story. It's a great story, so you should read it. I, personally, haven't read too much of it so I couldn't pick a scene from the main series so I picked the short story she made about Emi (River's sister) 
It honestly was one of the saddest "short" things I've ever read. Sure, you can read a two hundred and so Warrior book and you'll cry like a baby, but this story was quite short and it was bringing me to the brink of tears, man.

Now, *SPOILERS* it just inspired such feelings, ya know? One moment kits are by their mother's side, and the next their at each other's throats, fighting to stay alive. It's really something for something so young to have to endure so much so soon. In Thunderclan or in a kittypet home, kits that age would either have jumped up onto the TV for the first time, or have gotten their first rabbit. Any sort of actual killing would be moons later, but there River is standing over her dead sister with her teeth wet with blood. There's no excuse for it, no exclamation, it's just the way it is. It's just...there, but the world doesn't stop for any cat except one. The Teacher doesn't even hesitate. It's just another day to every kit and cat. It's something to think about, and that's why I chose this scene. 
Whenever you think you have to do something tough, just remember that you don't have to fight your sibling to death.  



I tried to do some different things this go around. As you all know, I am terrified of drawing backgrounds. I don't really like drawing backgrounds, and on top of that I don't think I'm skilled enough, but whatever. I tried. I also tried a different kind of shading than usual sort of. I've never done such dramatic shading! 
And yes, Emi is hugging her tail as she dies. Just...holdin' in the tears!
